Joli Studio Paris Canal St Martin This was a delightful place to stay: a stylish, well-lit, comfortable, airy, and peaceful studio in a picturesque neighbourhood, very convenient to the Métro with prime access (downstairs!) to the best épicerie and boulangerie. I almost did not want to go out! However, the nearby Canal is not to be ignored, so historic and beautiful in all weathers and times of day. And then there are the trendy shops and restaurants on both sides of the canal. Not to mention interesting happens on the bridge, such as recording of a rock-song with a crowd of passers-by putting their lives on hold to become the audience.

My charming, considerate and talented host, Olivier, bent over backwards to make me welcome and see that I was well settled-in. He was contactable at any hour, not that this was necessary, graciously fitting-in with my arrival and departure.

Such an experience suits those wishing to live, for a little while, like a true Parisien/ne. Most worthwhile, as all Olivier's neighbours were also friendly and courteous. I have recommended Olivier's studio to my Francophile friends here in Australia and abroad. As for moi, I would love to stay at the joli studio encore!
